A Quadriplegic Racecar Driver!

Sam Schmidt is racing again. The former Indy Racing League driver was paralyzed from the neck down after crashing during testing in Orlando in 2000. But now, according to a Joni and Friends report, he’s driving a race car again. The report says a company recently modified a Corvette loaded with sensors and cameras which allows Sam get out on the track again by turning his head to steer and ‘sipping’ on a straw to brake. It includes an infrared camera system, a sip and puff system, a computer system, GPS technology, and a safety system.  Read the article here.
