According to ABC News, Jesse Williamson is getting ready for the Baja 500, a grueling 500-mile dirt bike race that takes place on Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. What makes Jesse’s story unique is that, unlike the other racers, he is attempting to become the first double-amputee to compete in the race. The retired Marine lance corporal lost his legs below the knee from an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in August 2009. All his buddies in the vehicle died.
