16-year-old counterfeiter James Kirk has been charged with 10 felony counts of first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument after making phony $20 bills on a copying machine. James was caught after passing the counterfeit bills in his school cafeteria and at a local Wendy’s.  ***MARLAR: But then, nobody should be surprised to find that a boy named James Kirk ended up being a space case.

Astronomers from the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics have found what they’re calling a “super Earth,” located about 42 light years away in another solar system. The planet, officially called GJ 1214b, is nearly 2.7 times larger than our Earth and could be more than half-covered with water. But the temperature is over 250 degrees!  ***MARLAR: And leaders are meeting in Copenhagen to see what can be done about it.

Scientists in Australia have discovered that “new car smell” (the stuff you spray in your car to make it smell like new again) contains high levels of toxic air emissions that can make drivers ill. ***MARLAR: It’s the smell that makes you sick?  I thought it was the PRICE of a new car that did that.

A very rich man from India named Rajah Vajay lost his mansion, his land and all his money because he flossed his teeth in front of a cow. Hindus believe cattle are sacred, and acts that are seen as disrespectful to them are illegal. ***MARLAR: And the death penalty comes with every cheeseburger.

Some auto industry analysts are declaring the midsize SUV extinct.  Thanks to higher gas prices and the economy, SUV sales are down.  Will SUVs wither away altogether? Automakers are emphasizing them less, but think large families and people who tow boats and campers will still want them.  ***MARLAR: They are still popular in the South though, as even the dead SUVs make great flower planters.
