MSN has compiled a list of the most common financial myths floating around today. Here are a few examples…
- You can float a check longer if you write in red ink. Not true. (The theory is that a bank’s equipment can’t scan red ink, so it takes longer to process the check.)
- It’s better if you don’t sign the back of your credit card. Nope. It won’t protect you from identity theft.
- You can now opt out of having credit bureaus give your information to anyone who asks. Myth.
