How the Dinosaurs Died
Did the dinosaurs die out because of an asteroid strike or because of something else? Find out on today’s Creation Moments Minute.
Paleontologists have long noted that many animal fossils are found with their heads thrown back into what is called the “dead bird” position. Some scientists thought the creatures had fallen into the water when they died, and the current pushed their head back. Others suggested that rigor mortis was the cause. Or perhaps drying tendons in the back of the neck pulled the head back.
Research ruled out all three explanations. Scientists finally decided it was the result of suffocation caused most likely by drowning.
That the “dead bird” position is so common among fossils worldwide paints a picture of the death caused by God’s judgment in the Flood. His mercy to Noah, however, shows us His love.
