The Sudanese woman who made headlines earlier this summer after being imprisoned for her faith is finally out of Sudan. The BBC reported last week that Meriam Ibrahim and her family have flown to Rome after more than a month in the U.S. embassy in Sudan. Meriam had been sentenced to death for refusing to renounce her Christian faith and even gave birth to her daughter while shackled in prison. A worldwide outcry finally led to her release but she wasn’t allowed to leave the country until last week. She’s now been blessed by the Pope for her faith. You can see a video of her meeting with the hope and her trip back home by clicking the link below.
