If You Use Patreon You Absolutely Must Read This!

Image result for patreon +I’m using Patreon to support my audio and video creations on Podbean and YouTube, but I wanted to take my Patreon to the next level – I wanted it to be unique in order to stand out from all of the other creators on Patreon.  I wanted to build a community, not just a support base.
So now, everybody who signs up to be a patron, even if only at just $1 per month, receives a customized, personal greeting card from me. They open up that card and it says, “Thank you, Weirdo!”
***Side note – my fans are called “Weirdos” due to the branding of my shows, “Weird Darkness“, “Weird But True“, and “Daily Dose of Weird News“.***
That new Patreon supporter also gets a customized birthday card when their special day comes around each year.
I’ve only been doing this for about a month now and I’ve already received emails from patrons thanking me for the cards – and they are very surprised they received a physical card in the mail. They are loving it. For anyone who uses Patreon or some other similar platform to seek monthly giving from fans/supporters, this is absolutely perfect as a companion to it if you want to stand out from the crowd. I am absolutely certain I am creating loyal supporters with this method – those who otherwise might have been lukewarm or even considered dropping out of support after only a month or two. More than anything though – I’m building a community.  And isn’t that what we creative folks are all about?
I’m sure there are numerous ways you could go about doing the greeting card thing – depending on your needs, wants, tastes, etc., but if you want to see what I use, you can check it out and give it a try for free at http://www.sendoutcards.com/weird.  It may or may not be what you’re looking for, but it has most certainly been working for me.
