A little progress this week – a loss of about half a pound. Much less than expected. The only “bad” thing I had this week was a single bottle of beer, and that was two days ago so I don’t think it should’ve made too much of a difference.
Currently I’m doing a mish-mash of two diet plans, consuming a Visalus protein shake in the morning, then a healthy lunch, and then a either a healthy dinner or another shake for dinner depending on my mood and schedule. Last year I had my biggest success when I was on the 17 Day Diet. I’m following the rules of that diet now when it comes to the content of the actual food I’m eating, but that’s only one meal a day now as opposed to three since I’m replacing those other meals with the protein shakes. Sounds crazy, I know. Why would I do this when I had better success with that other plan? Well, I had a lot of the protein shake powder left over from before and I don’t want it to go to waste. I’m saving money on food now by consuming what is already in the pantry. It will be interesting to see if this eventually does pay off, or if I don’t see dramatic results until the powder is gone and I’m fully on the 17 Day Diet.
I do like the shakes for one reason – they are quick and easy. My schedule is so busy right now that it’s sometimes nice to just run into the kitchen, make a quick shake, and then run back to the voice over studio to continue working. What I might do is replace the milk in the shakes with just water (which is an option with the recipe, but it’s kinda bland that way). It will certainly cut down on the calories – and I can always add a no-calorie drink mix if I want more flavor. We’ll see what happens and I’ll give you an update next Wednesday!
