New holographic technology from Microsoft could reshape how we study the Bible. Microsoft recently unveiled HoloLens, an augmented-reality headset that overlays text and images on real world items. Already designers are looking into ways to implement the technology in the Christian world. According to a story in Christianity Today, ideas include having a desk full of study resources that are instantly accessible when the glasses are on but disappear as soon as they are removed, leaving just a completely clean desk. The system could also provide 3D models of Biblical items, timelines or maps that literally pop off the screen.
